Handmade Stockings, Decorations
and Vintage Ornaments for Fire Survivors
Last year, Ornaments for Altadena brought more than 6,000 handmade ornaments to our community. While Ornaments for Altadena will not be returning this year, the spirit of that project lives on with a new group carrying the tradition forward at Winter Bloom.
Meet Altadena Threads of Hope, a talented community that has spent much of this year hand-sewing stockings and holiday decorations specifically for Eaton Fire-affected households. Winter Bloom is over the moon to host this group and help bring another round of handmade and vintage holiday treasures to families who lost so much.
Here’s how to participate:
-
Register for a time slot. Please select either a Stocking or a No Stocking slot when registering. Stockings are limited to 30 per day, and registering for a stocking slot does not guarantee availability of a particular design.
-
Explore the collection. During your reserved time, you’ll have an opportunity to browse the handmade stockings, holiday decorations, and vintage ornaments available.
-
Choose your pieces. Each household may select one stocking (with a stocking slot, while supplies last) and 3–4 additional decorations or ornaments.
-
Be kind and enjoy the experience. Every piece has been made, gathered, or donated with care by volunteers who want to share a little holiday joy with fire-affected households.

Want to make a stocking or ornament?
Altadena Threads of Hope still has stocking kits available if you’d like to make a stocking to contribute!
We’re also happy to welcome one-of-a-kind, handmade stockings from local makers. Reach out to Kiley for info.
**This year, we’re focusing on stockings made with care, one at a time, rather than a large-scale donation drive.
Please note that there will not be an ornament donation project this year.**
Details and sign-up information for fire-affected households will be released at the end of October. Until then, enjoy a sneak peek at Altadena Threads of Hope’s beautiful work, made with so much care and love for our community.
