Ornaments for Altadena
As winter approaches, many in Altadena are preparing for their first holiday season after losing everything — including cherished, often irreplaceable, ornaments.
A group of fire survivors is working to bring a little light to this difficult season. At Winter Bloom, registered families will choose a special ornament from our display to take home at no cost.

Hope Blooms
Emotions flowed surprisingly fast in April 2025 for Altadena resident Maggie Ruder. As a production designer for television, she and the crew were working in advance on a Chsritmsas episode. The reminder of a holiday filled with tradition hit her hard. Like many others, Maggie's family lost their home in the Eaton Fire.
Looking to create something positive, Maggie partnered with Hilary DeWaay and Kimberly Kirven of Bespoke Art Society. Together, they imagined a way to bring people together in a spirit of creativity, connection, and renewal — Winter Bloom Market & Gathering emerged.
Through partnerships with community organizations, local business owners, and a team of friends and neighbors, Winter Bloom Market & Gathering is a space to gather, connect and celebrate the rich tapestry of our community — creating new traditions together.
